When I arrived at work this morning there was a massive package waiting for me. I wasn’t expecting anything so I unwrapped it excitedly. Inside were two pairs of fantastic boxing mitts and with them, a card that explained it all.

They were a gift from the actress I met the other day. She’d mentioned that her husband had some particularly good gloves with gel padding and these were the same sort. They’re brilliant and look very smart.

It was a lovely and unexpected gift.
