Everyone naturally picks up words and phrases they hear around them to some extent, but this has always felt like a particular habit of mine. I’ve no idea if it’s a part of Tourettes or not, but what I do know is that it can be very annoying.

The word that’s crept into my vocabulary in the last week or so is ‘totally’. It’s not a tic, but over the last few days I’ve totally found myself using it at every available opportunity. Is this irritating? Totally!

It’s not just me that’s finding this totally grating – Leftwing Idiot’s noticed too. I’m now trying to adjust my language to totally get rid of ‘totally’. This seems to be working, and I’m hoping it’s almost totally in the past. If only getting rid of unwanted tics was that simple!
