Two years ago I wrote about “Fuck a sheep!” the phrase I started ticcing every time I heard a particular but very common phone message-alert tone.

Years later and I’m still shouting it every time I hear the tone, but now I’m definitely not alone. Back in 2012 I wrote about how Bunny had picked up the habit. Now it’s everyone – Will yesterday, Zoë this morning and Fran just now. It’s become such an ingrained and automatic response among my friends that I barely notice it. A text comes in, the phone chimes and whoever’s nearby reacts with, ‘Fuck a sheep!’

Odd as it is to say, I find my friends and support workers ‘fucking sheep’ rather comforting.
