When I was about twenty my flatmate, Laura, read a book called ‘The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat’ by neurologist and writer Dr Oliver Sacks. When she finished it she suggested I should read it too.

This morning I was a woman on a mission. Before our performance of Backstage In Biscuit Land at 5pm I needed to find a new set of wheels, my own wheelchair having suffered a catastrophic injury in an Edinburgh drain last night.…

I woke feeling strangely tense and have felt the same almost all day. There was no particular reason for it and it made me gloomy and irritable. But this evening something happened that broke this feeling – but it also broke my wheelchair.…

I’ve just come off stage after my first ever stand-up comedy gig. This is daunting enough for anyone at the best of times, but thanks to my tics I never know what I’m about to say next. There’s an element of Tourettes that’s saying the least appropriate thing in any situation – so because my mum and dad were in the audience, a lot of my set turned out to be about Fat Sister’s sex life.…

Celebrating their 10th anniversary, this year Abnormally Funny People return to Edinburgh with a new show featuring different comedians every night. Each performance will feature incredible stand-up with a sprinkling of singing and improv.

This will be my first stand-up ever and I have no idea how it’s going to turn out.…

Thanks to Poppy at one end and Chopin at the other, Leftwing Idiot and I have made it safely to Edinburgh. Leaving a scorching London this morning we were very soon reminded that it’s much colder up north.
