London Drawing

An incredibly detailed digital drawing by Touretteshero of an aerial shot of the East End of London looking over a bend in the River Thames. The drawing is in a bold colourful and graphic style of a bustling London scene. The aerial view shows a mixture of lush green parks with large open spaces, the winding River Thames with its many bridges, rows upon rows of different eras of residential housing, apartment blocks, office blocks, winding roads and huge thoroughfares with enormous roundabouts. Famous iconic London landmarks have been depicted in the drawing such as Battersea Power Station, The Tate Modern, St. Paul’s Cathedral, The drawbridge of Tower Bridge and The Tower of London.

Exactly two years and one month ago, I shared two drawings which I’d done while on tour in New York. One was of the area in Brooklyn where we were staying, and the other was of the venue where I was performing.…

After the Storm

18^th February 2022

Touretteshero's gazebo that Erik put up in her garden during the first Coronavirus lockdown in 2020 whilst she was shielding. The gazebo is a faded mint green colour. The sunny and cloudy sky is visible through the large slashes and rips in the billowing gazebo caused by high winds during Storm Eunice.

News about Storm Eunice started in earnest yesterday, with weather forecasts and social media full of warnings about the hundred mile-an-hour winds due to sweep the UK.

It’s unusual for us to get severe storm warnings in London. I can only recall one other ‘proper’ storm, and that was back in 1987!…

Urban Art Stockwell - Born 2B Different

A collage of 5 images of Anton, AKA Born2bDifferent, working on his project for the Young Artists Development Programme. Anton is a black teenager wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts, an Adidas baseball cap and white headphones over the top. In the images, he’s at different parts of a brightly coloured and heavily graffitied skate park, using his iPad to take pictures and videos of the area. It’s a sunny day. Some shots are wide shots, where you can see buildings in the background, and others are close-ups of Anton next to the colourful walls. In one of them, he is sitting on some steps in the shade and is concentrating on his iPad.

Today is Global Movie Day, which makes it an appropriate time to share a film made by talented young artist and film maker Anton (AKA Born 2B Different). I’ve known Anton for years and it’s been a joy to see his creative work develop and grow.…
