Morning Melbourne
There are some tough things about having Tourettes, and for me one of them is disrupted sleep.
At 5:30 this morning I woke up having a ‘ticcing fit’. At first I wasn’t too worried about dropping off again, but it went on for a while and then, despite trying a variety of strategies, I couldn’t get back to sleep. Eventually, at 7:00, I gave up trying and opened the curtains of my hotel room.
Melbourne was just waking up and light was streaming into the room. I made a slice of toast and sat in my wheelchair with my legs resting up on the bed, watching the sunrise.
It was beautiful and peaceful, and I felt lucky to have the time, space, and toast with which to enjoy the view.
