When: Friday 24 March for SEN Schools
Saturday 25 March for individuals, families and groups
Sunday 26 March for individuals, families and groups

Where: Level 5, Switch House Tate Modern, Bankside, London SE1 9TG.

Who: Biscuit Land is for everyone, but we extend a particularly warm invitation to disabled and non-disabled children and young people aged 5–16, especially if you’ve got Tourettes.

How to book: This is a free drop-in event but please do book and let us know you’re coming. To do this get in touch call the Bookings Team on 020 7887 8888 (option 3) or email: schoolsandteachers@tate.org.uk. Make sure you let them know which day you’re booking for.

The Activities
Decorate your own delicious biscuits, join us in the garden for flower making and puppetry, challenge a friend to a round of Fingers on Buzzards – our quiz without rules – have your own say in our monologue spotlight, and, blankets at the ready, build a den in the sensory autumnal space. The Performance
Each day we’ll be performing a very special mobile version of our multi-award-winning show Backstage in Biscuit Land. The show, which explores my life with Tourettes and my belief that making theatre open to everyone makes it better, will be re-worked especially for the space, and for the wide age-range of our audiences. It will be approximately one hour long and will take place in the main space.

The Social Space
The Social Space can be found on the same floor, in the Southwark Room. This will be a room for talks, discussion and informal support. On Saturday Dr Amanda Maxwell from the Tics and Neuro-developmental Movements Service at St Thomas’ Hospital will give a talk on from 12.30. On Sunday, from 12.30, Dr Tara Murphy will give a talk on Tourettes and associated conditions, with lots of opportunity for questions and discussion. On both days Yolanda Welch of the Tourettes London Group will discuss her experience of Education Health and Care (EHC) plans. Come and share your experiences from 13.30.

Access
Adventures in Biscuit Land is a relaxed, multi-sensory event. A roaming BSL interpreter will be available on both Saturday and Sunday and a Social Story for the event is available to download here.

Biscuit Land will be fully wheelchair accessible throughout, and we’ll have priority access to a Changing Places toilet every day.

Also get in touch with the Tate team if you’re a blue badge holder and parking’s a part of your access requirement – we have a limited number of disabled parking spaces available throughout the event.
