Lego Wheelchairs
My niece Bean is two-and-a-half and she loves building structures with blocks – she calls them ‘structions’. The blocks we play with are the same ones that Fat Sister and I had as kids.
I have poor dexterity in my hands due to dystonia so these blocks are particularly good for me as they’re nice and chunky.
The other day, though, I had the first opportunity in a long time to play with some smaller, Lego blocks. The set I was playing with had lots of wheels so, naturally, I started making wheelchairs.
I found this strangely relaxing and loved trying to come up with better and better colourful chairs.
Bean also loves wheelchairs so I made one for her teddy bear out of the Duplo blocks for her to play with. She was very impressed but somewhat disappointed when she found she couldn’t fit her own bum on it.
