In two weeks I’m set to undertake one of the biggest and most exciting public speaking challenges I’ve ever faced.

On September 23rd I’ll be one of the speakers at Albertopolis, an independently organised  TED event at the Royal Albert Hall*. Although this’ll certainly test my nerves it’s a brilliant opportunity to talk to more people (4,000 of them) about Tourettes, Touretteshero and the creative potential of tics.

The event will explore how art and science can fit together in the modern world. My talk, given the title ‘The Alchemy of Chaos’ by my tics, will aim to show how even the most challenging aspects of Tourettes can be used as springboards for creativity.

I’m really looking forward to the event, to hearing the other speakers and to thinking about how artists and scientists can work together in imaginative ways. Collaborations between people from diverse disciplines are a powerful way to promote discussion and open up new ways to learn.
