Very Ouch!
At the start of the week I travelled into town to take part in the BBC Ouch team’s monthly podcast. I’ve listened to these podcasts for years and it was great to get another chance to take part in this witty and thoughtful show exploring disability issues.
I talked about my new Edinburgh show Backstage in Biscuit Land and about the recent work I’ve been doing for Channel Four. I also took part in a topical quiz.
I’m not brilliant at quizzes because my tics usually take over and shout out random answers. True to form, when Rob the Ouch quiz master asked ‘Who stopped their car for a disabled girl this week?’ my tics immediately answered “The Pope!”
I was stunned when Rob said this was the correct answer. For a moment I thought he was just going along with my off-the-wall answer for a joke. But I quickly realised my tics had actually given the correct answer. My winning streak didn’t last long though because bears and fairies didn’t feature among the right answers to the subsequent questions.
You can listen to the whole show here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Listened to the podcast this morning, was late to my appointment because I was watching Laurence Clark’s youtube videos! He is now on my radar, shall not miss him next time he’s in London.
