I had a long and painful ‘ticcing fit’ the other day. Will was supporting me and showing a new support worker the ropes. When the fit had nearly finished Will said ‘Can you move your legs?’ Without thinking I said yes, reached out, and moved them with my hands.

Laughing, Will said ‘That’s not what I meant, so you obviously can’t.’ I acknowledged that while I hadn’t regained control of my legs, I was in control of my arms. Well, as in control as I ever am.
