“Nothing Says Christmas Like Biscuits In Hats.”
We’re speeding towards the end of November so Christmas is just around the corner. The festive period’s been on my mind a lot recently because we’ve been working flat out to get this year’s Touretteshero Christmas card printed and ready to go in time. So I’m really pleased to announce that it’s available to buy from our shop today.
For the last three years our cards have featured the work of established illustrators. This year we’ve taken a different approach by making me responsible for both the tic and the artwork!
When Leftwing Idiot suggested I should produce the image for this year’s card I felt excited, but also a little nervous. The cards are really important because, as well as spreading festive cheer, the money we make from them goes towards keeping our site going and towards putting on creative events for children and young people with Tourettes.
I wanted to make sure I did the best job possible. And this is easier said than done because my arm tics make drawing very tricky. Even so I really enjoyed drawing each biscuit with its seasonally appropriate hat on.
It took lots of tries, partly because of my movements and partly because I wanted to get it just right. But eventually I achieved a version I liked and I really hope you do too. You can get yours here!
Don’t forget to check out our other amazing cards too. There’s our very first: “The Christmas Trees are Unionised” by Martin Bedford.
Our lovely 2012 offering: “Happy Christmas My Biscuits”, illustrated by longstanding Touretteshero supporter Laurie Pink.
And also last year’s sell-out: “You’re Under Arrest for Being a Christmas Tree” by the fantastic Jim’ll Paint It.
We’ve made sure all these cards are back in stock so do place an order for any you fancy. They’re all printed on recycled paper using environmentally friendly inks, and you can buy them as single cards, multi-packs of six and as an assortment pack of 24!
This year there’s also the chance to grab yourself a bit of Touretteshero history. We’ve got ten signed, completely original, hand drawn versions of the Christmas Hats artwork. They’re all versions I drew before we chose our final print. They’re £10 each (plus postage). If you’re interested in getting your hands on one, send me an email. I’d love to see them all go to a good home.
