I’ve got some exciting news, we’re looking for six creative young people with Tourettes (or associated conditions) aged between 16 and 25 to come and collaborate on a new project supported by Unlimited Impact and The Spirit of 2012 Trust.

Touretteshero’s ‘Idea Amplifier’ gives you the opportunity to think about the changes you’d like to see in your life, and imagine creative ways to make them happen.

Over two days you’ll work with other young people, the Touretteshero team and a professional filmmaker to produce a brand-new film made up of inventive sound and visuals.

We’ll be asking:

What does change look like?
What changes would you like to make?
What should we talk about?
What’s the best conversation you’ve ever had?
What ideas would you like to start with?

If any of these questions intrigue you then being part of the ‘Idea Amplifier’ could be perfect for you. Come and meet new people, learn practical skills and be part of making something that stimulates discussion and sparks change.

Interested? Here’s what you need to know:

• The event is open to young people aged 16-25 with Tourettes or associated conditions. (If you’re a young person with another disability and would like to be involved, do get in touch as we may be able to offer you a space too).

• The workshops will take place at The Camden Roundhouse over the weekend of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March from 11am-4pm on both days. You need to be available for both sessions – but please get in touch if you have any questions about this.

• You’ll need to make your own transport arrangements to and from the venue but we can provide up to £40 per day to each participant to cover transport costs.

• The event is open to young people from outside of London but you’ll need to make your own arrangements if you need any overnight accommodation.

• Lunch will be provided on both days.

• Touretteshero will offer a follow-up mentoring session to all participants, in person or via Skype, which will be an opportunity to discuss your individual creative practice and goals.

• Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is free but you’ll need to complete a registration form and commit to attending on both days.

Before we started Touretteshero I thought that creating change was a long drawn out process, or something that only other people did. But my experiences with Touretteshero have shown me that change can happen very quickly, that it often starts with a conversation, and that everyone has the capacity to create change.
