I’ve just come off stage after a phenomenal show to a packed house at the Norwich Playhouse. As always the wonderful Chopin was there with me, but tonight British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter Martin (my tics initially introduced him as our ‘stripper’) was also on stage.…

Back in January I wrote about news of a possible biscuit shortage due to flooding in the North of England. Sure enough over the following months our attention’s been repeatedly drawn to the Biscuit crisis.

It now seems that another shortage is looming, and this time it’s one in which I’ve had a direct hand.…

Yesterday we completed the third of our seven-week UK tour with a performance at the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich. The space was beautiful, the audience warm, and the show went well.

I’ve never toured with this intensity before though. There are lots of good things about it – we’ve visited lots of interesting places in our incredible new tour bus, we’ve met loads of lovely people, and hanging out with the team on the road has been fun.…

We’ve been in Canterbury, Kent, for the last couple of days and despite Chopin being very under the weather we’ve had two great performances of Backstage in Biscuit Land at the Marlowe Theatre, both to full houses.

I’ve not been to Canterbury before although I feel very close to the place – it’s where my parents went to college, met, fell in love and lived for a while before moving to London and having me.…

We’re off! Our tour’s kicked off with a sell-out show in Nottingham.

Five years ago Leftwing Idiot sent an email with the subject line: ‘We Can Be Heroes’. It read:

On the 19th March 2014, I did something that was both terrifying and thrilling – I registered a show for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. And I had no idea of the incredible adventures that were to come. What I did know was that it felt important to share, at one of the busiest performing arts festivals in the world, my experiences of Tourettes, and of the difficulties I’d had accessing theatre.…
