Tonight we welcomed our last Edinburgh audience into Biscuit Land. It was an amazing show – in the first few minutes Teddy Ruxpin got run over on my command by Euan of brilliant Euan’s Guide fame, I bit the magpie that sits on the back of my chair during the show, and Chopin’s monologue, which I’ve heard many times before, moved me all over again.…

This time next week Leftwing Idiot and I will be jumping on a train and heading up to Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival. All being well, Jess Mabel Jones (AKA Chopin) and our producer, Jolie, will meet us at the station.…

It’s just after 11pm, I’m sitting in bed, and the lamp-post I can see from my window is glowing warmly. I’m chatting to it periodically as I do most nights. Tonight, though, the conversation has particular significance:

Will and I spent this weekend in Cardiff with the wonderful Captain Hotknives at Unity Festival. It’s an inclusive and accessible arts festival, organised by Hijinx Theatre, that showcases a wide variety of work made by disabled and non-disabled artists from across the world.…

The rain was drumming gently on the tent as I slowly surfaced this morning and carefully stretched my stiff and tired body. None of us was in a rush to get up and by the time we were all awake it was dry again outside and slowly but surely the clouds had started to clear.…

The tent was incredibly hot when I woke up and although it was early I could feel the heat of the sun through the synthetic fabric. I opened the flaps to let in a much-needed breeze and the daylight flooded in too.…

Today started earlier than I’d have liked. It was 4:00am when I woke up having a ‘ticcing fit’. I was face down, in a sleeping bag, unable to move or make much noise. All I could manage was a weird little bark and I was fairly sure this wouldn’t be enough to wake Lottie, but fortunately after a few minutes she came to my rescue.…
